Herbert Thorpe T/A Proudstown Pigeon Supplies are currently seeking a Buyer and Procurement Officer for their site at Proudstown, Tara, Co. Meath to manage the end-to-end acquisition of goods and supplies, ensuring cost-effective purchasing, quality control, and supplier management. Duties will include: Managing procurement and supplier relationships. Sourcing and purchasing pigeon feed, supplements, medications, loft equipment, accessories, and other pigeon-related products. Inspecting deliveries for quality, labelling, condition, and compliance with company standards. Monitoring stock rotation (FIFO where applicable) and removing damaged, expired, or substandard products. Ensuring proper storage of products and compliance with relevant quality and safety standards. Conducting quality checks and maintaining procurement, supplier, and inventory records. Key Requirements: Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Knowledge of stock control and inventory management (including FIFO where applicable). Good communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Experience in the agricultural, animal care, or pet supplies sector is desirable. Remuneration is €36,605 per annum based on a 39-hour week.
