Westmeath and Dublin Number of Positions: 5 Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time Working Hours: 39 hours per week Annual Salary: €36,605 per annum Hourly Rate: €18.05 per hour Weekly Pay: €705.76 Job Description AC Logistics and Freight Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Professional HGV Driver to transport supermarket goods safely and efficiently between the company's distribution centre and customer stores. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring deliveries are completed on schedule while complying with all road transport and health and safety regulations. Main Duties and Responsibilities Drive Heavy Goods Vehicles (Category CE) to transport supermarket goods safely and efficiently. Load trailers according to delivery schedules and documentation provided by the Transport Desk. Inspect and secure loads before departure to ensure safe transportation. Carry out daily vehicle safety inspections and report any mechanical defects or maintenance issues. Complete deliveries to approximately 2–3 supermarket stores per shift. Unload goods at customer premises using appropriate equipment where required. Collect returned goods, pallets, cages and delivery documentation from stores. Return all collected items to the distribution warehouse and unload safely. Complete delivery records, vehicle check sheets, tachograph records and other transport documentation accurately. Comply with all Road Safety Authority regulations, EU Drivers' Hours Rules, tachograph legislation and company transport procedures. Follow all health and safety procedures, manual handling guidelines and food transport hygiene standards. Maintain a professional manner when dealing with customers, warehouse staff and transport management. Keep the assigned vehicle clean and roadworthy and promptly report any accidents, defects or delays. Perform any other reasonable transport-related duties assigned by management. Essential Requirements Valid Category CE (Artic) HGV Driving Licence. Valid Driver CPC qualification. Valid Digital Tachograph Driver Card. Good knowledge of road transport legislation and drivers' hours regulations. Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules. Good command of the English Language. Good physical fitness to carry out loading and unloading duties. Strong commitment to health and safety. Desirable Previous experience delivering to supermarkets or retail distribution centres. Experience operating pallet trucks or similar warehouse handling equipment. Additional Information Full-time permanent position.
