About the Role
As an Internal Key Account Manager, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships with our clients. You will be responsible for understanding each customer’s unique needs, delivering tailored solutions, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience at every touchpoint. Your expertise in sales and account management will help drive business growth, expand existing relationships, and support Medguard’s reputation for outstanding service.
This role combines hands-on sales activity with proactive problem-solving, process improvement, and close collaboration with team members across the business. You will act as the primary point of contact for your accounts and continuously seek opportunities to add value for both the customer and Medguard.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Account Management & Customer Relationships
Build and maintain trust-based relationships with a portfolio of major clients to ensure loyalty and satisfaction.
Acquire a deep understanding of key customer needs, requirements, and objectives.
Serve as the main communication link between key customers and internal teams.
Resolve customer issues and complaints promptly to maintain trust and satisfaction.
Identify and propose solutions that align with customer objectives and drive mutual value.
Sales Operations & Business Development
Play an integral role in generating new sales and expanding existing relationships.
Conduct outbound calls to potential customers, establish needs, and present tailored solutions.
Make a minimum of 20 telephone calls daily and engage with at least 10 new leads/prospects weekly.
Follow up on sales enquiries and leads within 24 hours, ensuring timely and accurate information is provided.
Work toward monthly sales and revenue targets as set by the Sales Director.
Enter all relevant sales data into Medguard’s CRM (NetSuite), ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
Commercial Support & Collaboration
Collaborate with internal teams to deliver seamless service and support to key accounts.
Gather and share market and customer intelligence with the Commercial Enablement Manager and purchasing team.
Represent Medguard at trade exhibitions, events, and demonstrations as required.
Support the preparation of detailed proposal documents, often as part of formal bidding processes.
Administration & Reporting
Respond to incoming email, and phone enquiries within 24 hours.
Negotiate terms of agreements and close sales in line with company standards.
Maintain quality service by upholding organisational standards and confidentiality.
Identify product improvements or new opportunities by staying current on industry trends and competitor activity.
Review personal sales performance and strive to meet or exceed targets.
Participate in annual stock takes and attend team meetings, sharing best practices with colleagues.
