Our client, Crewit Resourcing Limited, based in Citywest, Co. Dublin, is currently seeking Light Commercial Vehicle Mechanics for immediate start for their facilities in Dublin and Laois. Duties & Responsibilities - To be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of light commercial vehicles (primarily refrigerated vans) to ensure maximum operational efficiency, compliance with road safety standards, and minimal downtime. - To perform diagnostic tests on light commercial vehicles, completing repairs, and ensuring vehicles are safe and adhere to regulatory standards. - Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues on LCVs using diagnostic tools and software. - Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance. - Repair and replace parts including engines, brakes, suspension, transmission, and refrigeration units. - Perform pre-NCT checks and ensure all vehicles meet required safety and compliance standards. - Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs carried out. - Respond to breakdowns and perform roadside assistance when required. - Collaborate with the Fleet Manager to schedule maintenance and ensure minimal disruption to operations. - Ensure all work is performed in line with company health and safety procedures and environmental regulations. - Ensure that all repairs and maintenance work meet or exceed regulatory standards Requirements & Experience - Candidate must be competent to carry out all duties listed above - Minimum 3 years of experience working on light commercial vehicles as a mechanic - Mechanic qualification is an advantage but is not required - Experience in carrying out routine servicing and preventive & reactive maintenance on commercial fleet vehicles is required - Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. - Ability to check and assess vehicles for road safety requirements and testing - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Flexibility for occasional overtime and on-call duties. - Experience with vehicle diagnostic software (e.g. TEXA, Snap-on). - Familiarity with health & safety protocols in a workshop environment.
