CNC Operator

Job Description: The successful candidates will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machinery to manufacture construction, timber and joinery components accurately and efficiently in accordance with technical drawings, specifications and production requirements. Key Duties and Responsibilities: • Set up and operate 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machinery to cut, shape, route and machine timber and other materials according to production requirements. • Read and follow technical drawings, specifications and production instructions. • Load materials, set datum points, select appropriate tooling and adjust machine settings as required. • Monitor CNC machinery during operation and make adjustments to maintain accurate and consistent production. • Inspect finished components using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers and gauges. • Identify machining or tooling issues and report technical problems to the supervisor or team leader. • Carry out routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance of CNC machinery and associated equipment. • Maintain a clean and organised working area and follow company health and safety, manual handling and PPE requirements. • Work effectively as part of the production team and assist with other reasonable production duties when required. Essential Requirements: • Minimum 2 years’ relevant hands-on experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing, joinery, timber, construction or related production environment. • Ability to read and follow basic technical drawings and production instructions. • Good attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work. • Ability to follow workplace health and safety procedures. • Basic English sufficient to understand work and safety instructions.
