Cavan, IrelandCompany OverviewVirginia Transport Ltd, trading as Virginia International Logistics, provides national and international haulage services using a modern fleet and operating in compliance with Irish and EU transport regulations.Position SummaryVirginia Transport Ltd is recruiting experienced HGV Drivers (C+E Licence) for national and international haulage operations. This is a full-time, permanent position, subject to successful completion of a six-month probationary period.Key Responsibilities· Conduct daily vehicle and trailer safety inspections· Operate articulated HGV vehicles in compliance with EU Drivers’ Hours Regulation (EC 561/2006)· Ensure correct use of digital tachograph equipment· Complete scheduled national and/or international deliveries· Comply with Road Traffic and Health & Safety legislation· Follow site-specific safety rules and wear required PPE· Maintain communication with the transport planning office· Keep vehicles and equipment clean and well maintained· Meet assigned collection and delivery schedulesEssential Requirements· Full, clean C+E (Articulated) Driving Licence· Valid Driver CPC· Valid Digital Tachograph Card· Minimum 2 years’ verifiable HGV driving experience· Good knowledge of Road Traffic and transport legislation· Ability to communicate effectively in English for operational and safety purposes· Professional, reliable and safety-focused approachDesirable (Not Essential)ADR CertificationExperience with articulated tipper vehiclesPrevious experience in haulage/logistics operationsHours of Work* Full-time position averaging up to 48 hours per week* Calculated over the applicable reference period In compliance with: Organisation of Working Time Act 1997 EU Drivers’ Hours Regulations (EC 561/2006)* Working schedules may vary depending on operational requirementsRemuneration€43,680 – €46,800 Gross per annumEquivalent to €840 – €900 Gross per weekSalary reflects the full scope of duties and working hoursOvertime paid in accordance with statutory requirements, where applicableContract TermsPermanent, full-time contract Six-month probationary periodImmediate start availableApplication ProcessApplications must be submitted by email to: [email protected]Please include: Updated CV detailing relevant experienceCopy of C+E driving licenceCPC certification detailsDigital Tachograph Card informationClosing Date for Applications: 7th November 2026Equal Opportunities StatementThis position is open to all suitably qualified candidates.Selection will be based solely on qualifications, skillsWork Location: On the road
