Dairy Farm Assistant

We are currently looking for dairy farm assistant who will be responsible for to support daily dairy farm operations to maintain herd health, ensure high-quality milk production, and help run a safe, efficient, and sustainable farm. Core responsibilities - Milking and herd care: Assist with twice-daily milking; monitor cows for signs of illness or injury. - Feeding and bedding: Prepare and distribute feed; maintain clean, dry bedding. - Calf rearing: Assist with feeding, health checks, and record-keeping for calves. - Health and hygiene: Administer basic treatments under supervision; follow biosecurity and hygiene protocols. - Equipment and yard maintenance: Clean and maintain milking parlour, yards, and basic farm machinery. - Record keeping: Log milk yields, treatments, and daily tasks accurately. Required skills and attributes - Experience: Previous farm or animal-care experience preferred; training provided for the right candidate. - Physical fitness: Able to lift, walk, and work outdoors in all weather. - Reliability: Punctual, able to work early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends. - Teamwork: Good communicator and willing to follow instructions. - Animal welfare focus: Respectful, calm, and attentive around livestock. - Driver’s license: Desirable but not essential.
