Healthcare Assistant - Newly Opening Nursing Home

Provide high-quality, person-centred care to residents in accordance with their individual care plans. Assist residents with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility and mealtime support. Promote residents' dignity, privacy, independence and choice at all times. Support residents' physical, emotional and social wellbeing. Observe and report any changes in residents' health or behaviour to the nurse in charge. Assist with moving and handling procedures in accordance with training and policies. Maintain accurate documentation and records as required. Support residents in social and recreational activities and encourage meaningful engagement. Maintain a clean, safe and homely environment for residents. Work collaboratively with nurses and the multidisciplinary team. Follow infection prevention and control procedures and all health and safety policies. Participate in mandatory training and continuous professional development. Adhere to HIQA Standards and all Cramers Court Nursing Home policies and procedures. Requirements QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support (Care of the Older Person and Care Skills modules) or working towards achieving the qualification. Previous experience in a nursing home or healthcare setting is desirable but not essential. Genuine interest in caring for older persons. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Compassionate, caring and respectful approach to resident care. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and use own initiative. Good spoken and written English. Understanding of person-centred care principles. Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends and public holidays as required. Eligibility to work in Ireland. Salary: €32,691.00 Hourly Rate: €16.12 per hour Working hours: 39 Hours a week.
